”When I opened my eyes, I was naked”... Former soldier sexually assaulted female guest two months after release from prison (South Korea)
A former soldier serving time in a military prison on suspicion of indecent assault sexually assaulted a female customer while working as a substitute driver two months after his release.
According to JTBC's "Case Leader" on the 18th, victim A used an app to call a designated driver to get home after drinking with friends in October last year.
A, who had taken a half-day off from work and was drinking, fell asleep after getting into a car driven by a substitute driver at around 3:30 p.m. and woke up about an hour later.
She was lying naked on the passenger seat. When the substitute driver arrived at their destination and A did not wake up, he moved to a nearby vacant lot and committed the crime.
Mr. A said, "When I opened my eyes, all my clothes had been removed, and the assailant had taken off all his underwear."
She claimed, "When I continued to yell, he moved from the back seat to the front seat and ran away." During this process, the substitute driver even turned off the power to the dashcam so as not to leave any evidence.
While the substitute driver was out of the car, Mr. A locked the car doors and called the police, and the driver was eventually arrested by a police officer while he was wandering around the car.
Illegal footage of A was also found on the mobile phone. Police investigation revealed that the perpetrator was a former soldier who had previously been incarcerated in a military prison for two years on suspicion of indecent assault, and had been released from prison.
Two months had passed since the incident. The assailant offered a settlement to Mr. A without apologizing and asked him not to tell his wife.
Mr. A said, "I developed severe PTSD and was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital because I couldn't bear the mental stress."
"In order to make the perpetrator's sentence as heavy as possible, I have been telling people around me about the sexual assault and illegal filming and have received petitions. It is embarrassing, but I sincerely hope that the defendant will be severely punished."
Meanwhile, the agency said, "We will take measures to prevent this driver from working any more," but added, "We will try to prevent recurrence, but we cannot check the criminal records of our drivers.
There are some difficult parts."
