Road collapses in Seoul, one person rushed to hospital after motorcycle crash

A large collapse occurred on a road in Myeongil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. A motorcycle fell from the road and one person was taken to the hospital.
According to the Gangdong Police Station and fire department in Seoul, the incident occurred at around 6:29 pm on the 24th at a building near Daemyung Elementary School, 811 Dongnam-ro, Myeongil-dong.
A four-lane sinkhole occurred at the school entrance intersection. Fire department officials responded to a report that "the road had collapsed and one car and one motorcycle had fallen in," and rescued one person at the scene and took him to the hospital.
The authorities, in consultation with the relevant agencies, confirmed that they had completed the shutoff of water and high-voltage lines. As a result of this accident, traffic in both directions was completely blocked from the Daemyung Elementary School intersection to the Saengtae Park intersection.
The authorities believe the motorcycle is buried under the mud and are proceeding with additional rescue operations. The authorities plan to investigate the cause of the collapse after recovering the accident site.
