The majority of students at Seoul University and Yonsei University's medical schools are expected to return... 80% of students at Korea University intend to return (South Korea)
Seoul National University medical school students decided to register for the first semester on the 27th, the registration deadline. Yonsei University medical school students are also moving from 'refusing to register' to 'taking a leave of absence after registering'.
Turning the tide, more than 80% of students at Korea University have also expressed their intention to register, suggesting that the majority will also register.
Seoul National University College of Medicine's Medical and Political Conflict Task Force (TF) is targeting students
Voting on the campaign method was conducted until the morning of the 27th, and of the 645 total respondents, 607 (65.7%) (399 people) chose to register, excluding the 38 people whose leave of absence has been approved.
Only 34.3% (208 people) answered that they would register. The TF explained that it had concluded that it was practically impossible to continue the struggle by taking an unregistered leave of absence, and decided to adopt a method of struggle that would require registration.
The TF said, "After registering, they will take measures such as taking a leave of absence and refusing to attend classes. Registration procedures will be completed by submitting a return to school application and applying to attend classes by 2 p.m. today."
The Seoul National University College of Medicine closed its first semester registration at 5 p.m. on the same day. The Yonsei University College of Medicine Student Emergency Response Committee also announced on the night of the 26th that it would be possible to take a leave of absence for the first semester.
In the case of Yonsei University, the deadline for registration was the 21st, and on the 24th, notices of planned expulsion were sent to unregistered students. However, the university has not yet announced the final expulsion date for the 28th.
With the registration process looming, there is still room for options. As a result, it is expected that additional registration applications will continue to be submitted to Yonsei University today.
Korea University also closed registration on the 21st, and the number of students to be expelled is expected to increase by 28th.
The school is currently offering consultations for students who wish to return to school, but it has been found that applications for consultations are continuing. The registration rate has also reportedly risen to the 80% level.

It is interesting to see whether this will have an impact on the medical students. However, the medical students' association as a whole intends to continue the "unregistered struggle" for the time being.
In a statement issued by the representatives of 38 medical schools excluding Seoul National University and Yonsei University, they said, "The struggle is not over. There has been some unrest at Seoul National University and Yonsei University, but the remaining 38 units remain in the same position.
"We have maintained our status as unregistered," they said. "None of the goals of our struggle have been achieved. There is no reason for us to tear up our legitimate leave of absence papers. The association has decided to withdraw our registration in order to protect its members.
"We will maintain our current direction."
