Bitcoin (BTC) prices temporarily rose to $81,000 after news broke that US President Donald Trump may impose 20% tariffs on trading partners around the world.
As of 10:35 am on the 31st, the price of Bitcoin in South Korea was down 1.21% from the same time the previous day to 122,132,000 won (approximately 113,000 yen).
At the same time, the overseas Bitcoin price based on CoinMarketCap was down 1.17% from the same time the previous day to $82,053 (approximately JPY 12.24 million).
Bitcoin, which was trading at around $83,000 the previous day, fell to $81,629 at one o'clock in the morning on the same day. President Trump's remarks regarding tariffs have led to growing economic uncertainty.
On the same day, President Trump announced that he would impose "secondary tariffs" on Russian oil if Russia did not agree to a ceasefire in the Ukrainian war.
The second tariff refers to tariffs imposed on countries that purchase Russian oil. On the same day, news broke that President Trump may impose a 20% tariff on countries around the world.
According to foreign media such as the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the Trump administration plans to increase tariffs on trading partners and apply a wide range of tariffs.
The WSJ said, "A general tariff of 20% would be applied to trading partners around the world," explaining that the decision was made to "reduce the US budget deficit."
