A court has banned YouTuber Lee Jinho, who was sued for allegedly defaming the Korean actress Kim Sae Ron, who died last month, from contacting her family.
According to the police on the 31st, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul requested a provisional injunction to prohibit Lee from approaching Kim, at the request of Kim's family.
Lee filed a petition and was informed that the court had issued a provisional injunction. Lee was accused of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, among other things, and according to Article 9 of the said act, the court cannot

The law also stipulates that measures such as "banning electronic communication with cohabitants and family members of the person who died in the accident" may be taken. On the 17th of this month, Kim's family filed a lawsuit against Lee for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
At the time, lawyer Boo Ji-seok, who represents the family, said, "Mr. Lee denied that the deceased had been in a relationship with actress Kim Soo-hyeon in the past, and furthermore, he called the deceased a strange woman.
"The defendant fabricated a false accusation and caused extreme mental distress," he said, adding, "We hope that the causal relationship between this content and the death of the deceased will be reflected and that severe punishment will be imposed."
However, Lee continued to create and post videos about the deceased and their families, and on the 27th of this month, the family filed an additional lawsuit against Lee for allegedly violating the Stalking Punishment Act.
The family said that the provisional injunction would prevent Lee from creating or posting any YouTube videos about the deceased for the next three months. However, Lee posted a comment on his YouTube channel on the same day.
"It means that we can continue broadcasting," he said. Seodaemun Police Station is handling the complaint against Lee and is reviewing the charges.
