On the 31st, Korean low-cost carrier Air Seoul held a press conference at Yonago Kitaro Airport in Tottori Prefecture with Kim Jun-Ho, CEO of Air Seoul, Shinji Hirai, Governor of Tottori Prefecture, and Hama, Chairman of the Tottori Prefectural Assembly.
It was revealed that a "commemorative ceremony for the increased service on the Yonago route" was held, with the attendance of Shinichi Saki and Yoshiomi Fujii, chairman of the Tottori Prefecture Japan-Korea Friendship Association.
As travel to small Japanese cities becomes more popular in Korea, Air Seoul is now operating an exclusive Yonago route.
Starting on the 31st, the airline increased its flights from three times a week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) to five times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday). On the first day of the increased flights (the 31st), the occupancy rate recorded 99%, making for a good start.
Meanwhile, Tottori Prefecture also celebrated the increased service with Governor Hirai, Chairman Hamasaki and other key officials attending a commemorative ceremony, and the details of the increased service were reported by many local media outlets.
Air Seoul CEO Kim said at the ceremony, "We hope to spread awareness of the charms of Tottori Prefecture to many people so that this project will continue to be a successful example of mutual exchange between the two countries, going beyond the cooperation between the airline and the local government."
An Air Seoul official said, "Tottori Prefecture is a great choice for those who want to enjoy healing and gourmet travel amid beautiful nature, and we are looking forward to seeing many tourists from around the country, especially in April and May.
I recommend a spring cherry blossom viewing trip."
