SUPER JUNIOR's Shindong apologizes for remarks about member Eunhyuk after receiving criticism from fans

Shindong of the Korean group “SUPER JUNIOR” delivered a sincere apology to his fans.

　On the 3rd, Shindong posted a video on his YouTube channel titled “Words I Really Want to Say. Earlier, Shindong was protested by some fans who said that he had demeaned Eunhyuk's appearance and his performance in winning first place in a music program on the variety show “Dolsing Forman (single for men)” in which he appeared with Eunhyuk.

　Shindong said, “I was secretly panicking when I saw the community. Suddenly, I was nervous. I thought, 'Why didn't I think this way after all the variety shows I've been on? I thought. I felt weird. The thought came to me that I had to film it quickly and tell my fans about it,” he said.

　He continued, “It's a strange situation, and I couldn't imagine the reaction of the fans. We've talked a lot about it before, and I think that's why the response was so positive,” he said. "But it means that we have really continued to do exactly the same thing for a long time. We didn't know that our fans had felt that way and that they had been telling us to stop for a while. This was the first time I felt that there were things that made me uncomfortable,” he confided.

　Shindong said, “I'm sorry,” and added, “(The gag about appearance) is an admission that I'm the same person I used to be. I have to change, but it's also my mistake,” he said. ‘Also, on the other side, the other day I was on YouTube with Hyo-yeon (Girls’ Generation), and the fans loved it when I pointed out and said that the members were wrong. You like this. And this is different, but I couldn't recognize it. I thought fans liked it when 'SUPER JUNIOR' joked around with 'SUPER JUNIOR' and played pranks on them.”

　"I talked to Eunhyuk,” he said, "and I told him that it seemed like we had to go and shoot some footage and talk about sorry. I told him not to weigh in so heavily. He told me that he knew that his brother [Shindong] didn't mean it that way. I was grateful for that,” he said. "I finally understood that even if the members don't talk to each other, they might feel that way from the viewpoint of the audience."

　Finally, Shindong said, “The moment people who like me think they don't like me, I'm done. My hands suddenly shook. I had to be sure to recognize what I shouldn't have done.” He added, ”I was wrong and I'm sorry. I hope you can forgive me for once. I will be careful in the future."
