The Japan premiere, featuring Yeongmin and Jung HaeIn, was held on Thursday, April 3rd at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. As many fans gathered at the theater eagerly awaited, Ryu Seung-wa
Director Hwang Jung Min and Jung HaeIn appeared on stage. The three were greeted by cheers from the fans and silver ribbons, and they smiled and waved back. This is Ryu Seung's first visit to Japan since last year.
Director Wang said, "I'm really grateful that you took the time to come and watch the movie." Hwang Jung Min, who was in Japan for the first time to promote the movie, said, "I'm a veteran.
I am so happy to be able to meet you all now that "Violent Crimes Investigation Unit" is being released in Japan. I hope it will be a fun time for you all.
"I'm looking forward to seeing you all again," she said with a smile. This is Jung HaeIn's first time appearing on stage in Japan, and she said, "Nice to meet you all. I'm happy to meet you. I'm nervous, but I'll do my best. I'm looking forward to it.
"I'll do my best to greet you in Japanese," he said. Director Ryoo Seung-wan said of this latest work, which is his first in nine years since "Veteran" was released in 2015, "We've been talking about making a sequel for a long time.
I was surprised that nine years had passed since I first saw the film. I was wondering how I could show my character a more developed version of myself in those nine years, and how I could effectively capture the protagonist's growth.
"It was a time when I was wondering what I should do. Today, I think I can deliver to you all something enjoyable that is worthy of the nine years that have passed," he said, expressing his feelings about the work.
Hwang Jung Min said, "This film was an important one for the cast and for those working in the Korean film industry.
The Korean film industry was damaged, and people couldn't even watch movies at the cinema. I worked on this film with the hope that it would bring vitality back to the film industry, and I am grateful for the support.
Thanks to the many people who came to see the film, we were able to release it in Japan. I want to say to you all, thank you for inviting me today.
I hope you enjoy the movie," he said in a serious tone, but then he said, "Please contact me with your thoughts on the movie. The number is 010-000-0000..."
The audience laughed at his funny jokes. Jung HaeIn, who has recently joined the "Veteran" family, said, "When I first received the offer, it felt like a dream. I watched "Veteran" when I was a student.
I was one of the people who was fascinated by the film, and participating in this work felt like a dream come true for me as an actor. I felt some pressure, but once filming started, I was able to fully enjoy it.
Ng Jeongmin approached me and even though he doesn't usually drink, he invited me to have a drink. Thanks to that, I was able to film in a relaxed and fun way.
"I was able to do it," he said, expressing his gratitude to his senior. Hwang Jung Min, who heard Jung HaeIn's thoughts, said, "I'm sure it must have been a big pressure to join from the second work.
He's an actor with an incredible amount of energy, absorbing and accepting everything like a sponge, so I feel like I learned a lot from him about his personality and how he approaches his work.
"I love Jung HaeIn," she said, gently extending her hand towards Jung HaeIn who was standing next to her, and the audience erupted in excitement when Jung HaeIn shook her hand tightly in return.
When asked about a memorable filming episode, director Ryoo Seung-wan said, "I wanted to film a detective struggling alone in the cold, so we filmed it in the middle of winter, and it was really cold.
"There is a scene where Hwang Jung Min felt like he just wanted to go home quickly, rather than worry about the outcome of the shoot, and I want everyone to think about which scene that is," he said.
Hwang Jung Min said, "I'm happy to be able to communicate with everyone through the movie.
It's a great honor. This time and space to present a film is important and an honor for an actor. 350 times is a surprising number, but it's actually a lot of work.
"I didn't think about it, but just enjoyed myself while greeting the audience on stage," he said. Jung HaeIn, who has previously visited Japan for fan meetings, said, "As an actor, my main job is to appear on stage.
This is my first time coming to Japan with the role I played in, and I'm very happy and overwhelmed," he said, adding, "During the stage greeting in Korea, I had to go up and down the stairs many times, so my lower body became stronger.
After the photo session for the press, Hwang Jung Min asked Jung, "How about going around the whole venue?"
A surprise proposal for HaeIn. When Jung HaeIn appeared in the audience, cheers were heard, and the crowd erupted in even louder cheers. The crowd waved and made hearts with their hands, and the crowd reached the back rows on both sides.
The fans were thrilled. When Jung HaeIn returned to the stage, the fans immediately started calling for Hwang Jung Min, but unfortunately they had to give up due to time constraints.
The Japan premiere ended with a commemorative photo with the fans holding the film. [Film information] ■ Film title: "Veteran Violent Crime Investigation Team"
