イーサリアム「ペクトラ」のアップグレード、メインネット適用 5月7日に確定
Ethereum Pectra upgrade, mainnet implementation confirmed for May 7th
Ethereum developers have set May 7 as the target date for rolling out the “Pectra” upgrade to the mainnet.
The Block announced on the 3rd (local time) that the Pektra upgrade will be applied to the mainnet on May 7th.
The upgrade includes 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), which are expected to significantly improve the efficiency, usability, and staking capabilities of the network.
The Pektra upgrade was originally scheduled to be implemented at the end of April, but the date has been adjusted slightly following the recent successful testing on the Hoodi testnet.
The schedule was decided at the Ethereum Core Developers Meeting held on March 28, where key developers gathered to discuss the progress of the Pectra hard fork and the distribution schedule.
The upgrade includes EIP-7702, which improves user experience and account abstraction within the wallet, and the increase in validator staking limits from the previous 32E.
EIP-7251, which significantly raises the limit from 10,000 to 2048 ETH, and EIP-7691, which includes an increase in the maximum number of blobs to improve rollup scalability.
However, May 7 is the "target date" and the schedule may be rescheduled if any unforeseen problems occur during the test process.
The upgrade has been postponed multiple times. Ethereum developers said at a March meeting that if no serious issues arise on the Hoodi testnet, the upgrade will be rolled out to the mainnet in about 30 days.
The date has now been adjusted to early May to provide stakeholders and the client team with more time to prepare.
