South Korea's largest opposition party calls on acting president to ”accept the resignations of the aides who led the rebellion”

South Korea's largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea, has called on Acting President (Prime Minister) Han Deok-soo to "immediately accept the resignations of the aides who were behind the civil unrest."
A spokesman for the Democratic Party said at a press conference on the same day, "Since the mastermind of the rebellion, former President Yoon Seok-yeol, was dismissed, it would be common sense for his advisors to share the same fate.
"It is the people's demand. But Prime Minister Han is defending them," he emphasized. The spokesman added, "The high-ranking members of the presidential office were unable to stop Yoon Seok-yeol's rampage. Many of them are 'internal
"They are suspected of inciting rebellion. They are the advisors to the ringleaders of the rebellion who have been disrupting the response of the National Assembly and investigative agencies even after the December 3 emergency martial law was imposed," he said.
He continued, "They announced their intention to resign immediately after Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment was confirmed," and "They are outraged at the fact that they are still public officials when they should have been forced out and are under investigation."
If the government has any respect for the will of the people, it should accept the resignation immediately." The spokesman added, "Prime Minister Han is going against the will of the people. He will not accept the resignation," and added, "There are other reasons for this.
It's unsightly. (Prime Minister Han) said, 'We must not allow even a momentary vacuum in national affairs,' given the dire economic and security situation."
He continued, "Who among Yoon Seok-youl's aides, including the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, has filled the vacuum in national politics so far?
What kind of public service have they been performing for the past four months while receiving a monthly salary from taxpayers' money?" he said.
"We warn Prime Minister Han, who is acting as a 'representative of the civil war,'" he said, "One 'mass resignation show' is enough.
"I hope this doesn't test the patience of the Democratic Party."
