Mayor Hong said through Feisbook that morning, "We introduced a German-style constitutional court system when we revised the constitution in 1987, but the constitutional court was closed due to political influence.
"The court is unable to exercise its original functions and is constantly at the center of political battles, and candidates for constitutional justice with extreme ideals are emerging, leading to the spread of the idea that the constitutional court is useless."
Mayor Hong said, "The Supreme Court makes decisions according to legal logic, but the Constitutional Court often makes a decision first and then applies legal logic to that conclusion.
"The credibility of its rulings has significantly declined because of this," he said, pointing out that "it is time to change the Constitutional Court's judicial system." He continued, "The first priority in amending the constitution should be to prevent the Constitution from becoming a symbol of political infighting.
"The abolition of the Constitutional Court is a step forward," he added.
