Blockchain Forum to launch new ”Digital Convergence Industry Association”...Ministry of Science and Technology approves establishment of non-profit association

The Blockchain Forum, which is positioned as the representative private forum for the blockchain industry in Korea, has been designated as a non-profit organization by the Ministry of Science and ICT (equivalent to the Digital Agency in Japan).
Following approval for the establishment of a for-profit incorporated association, the association was officially launched under the new name of "Digital Convergence Industry Association." The Digital Convergence Industry Association began in 2020 as the "Special Financial Law Forum."
The association was launched with just 10 members and has since grown into a private network of industry representatives with 345 members.
The association has played the role of a private think tank that conveys the opinions of the digital technology industry to the National Assembly and the government. The association has set "digital innovation, industrial convergence, and leaping into the future" as its core vision.
The main goal is to develop an industrial ecosystem through the integration of digital technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). To achieve this, an organic cooperation system between demand and supply companies will be established.
The association plans to strengthen cooperation between industry, government and academia and to systematically develop network-based research activities through collaboration between the two groups.
"The integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence is not a choice but a necessity," he said. "We will build a network of cooperation between industry, government, and academia between supply and demand companies in the fields of blockchain and artificial intelligence, establish a foundation for research activities, and systematically manage the association."
He added, "We will continue to collect the opinions of the steering committee and members and develop policy directions and strategies."
Meanwhile, the Digital Convergence Industry Association is a platform for companies interested in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital convergence technology fields.
The company plans to expand collaboration with experts and other related parties, and will continue to work to create a broader industrial ecosystem by collaborating on existing research and forming new research teams.
