A cryptocurrency lawyer is seeking to appoint the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to unmask Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
On the 7th (local time), The Block reported that cryptocurrency lawyer James A. Murphy filed a lawsuit against the company.
Murphy filed a complaint in federal court in the District of Columbia on the same day, demanding the release of government documents relating to Nakamoto's identity.
Murphy, who goes by the name "MetaLawMan" on X, has 44,000 accounts and claims that his Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests have been ignored.
"Billions of dollars have flowed into physical Bitcoin ETFs, and there are calls for the introduction of Bitcoin reserve funds at the federal and state levels," Murphy said in the lawsuit.
"In the circumstances under discussion, the public and Murphy himself need to know clearly what information the government has about the creator of Bitcoin," he said.
