New TV series ”Someday, a Smart Resident” starts off with the highest viewership rating in its time slot

The unveiled tvN Saturday drama “Someday Smart Resident Life” departed with the No.1 rating in the same time slot.

The drama, which aired its first episode on the 12th, depicted first-year resident obstetricians Oh Yi-young (Koh Yoon-jung), Pyo Nam-kyung (Shin Hsia), Oh Jae-il (Kang Yoo-seok), and Kim Sabi (Han Ye-ji), all of whom work at Yulje Hospital, as they step out into society.

The first episode was a routine story that unfolded in the space of Yulje Hospital, but it was praised for its sensibility of the “Clever Doctor Life” series. Here, details were added that made the viewer feel as if they were watching an actual surgical procedure, enhancing the immersive experience.

According to Nielsen Korea, the ratings for the first episode averaged 4.4% for metropolitan households and reached a high of 6.2%. It averaged 3.7% and 5.2% nationwide, ranking first in the same time slot on both cable and general programming channels.

The second episode of “Someday, Smart Resident Life” will air on tvN at 9:20 p.m. on the 13th.
