On the 14th, former Mayor Hong held a ceremony announcing his candidacy for the presidential election, calling this election a "Hong Jun-pyo administration or Lee Jae-myung administration?"
"It should be a presidential election with a two-choice question: Will the government or not? Over the next 50 days, I want to let the public know what direction the country will head under Lee Jae Myung's administration."
In addition, former Mayor Hong said, "If a candidate from our party (the ruling People Power Party) is elected, we will form an anti-Lee Jae Myung coalition around that person, and we will also have anti-Lee Jae Myung coalitions within the Democratic Party as well as the Reform Party.
"Only by working together with the Jae Myung forces can we prevent this (the inauguration of the Lee Jae Myung administration)," he stressed.
