[Official Report] XIUMIN (EXO), star of ”The Chef of Love Across Time and Space,” talks all about the charms of the TV series!

A new future TV show, "ABEMA," is a slapstick fantasy starring XIUMIN (EXO) about a troubled child from the Joseon Dynasty who travels back in time to the present day, 400 years later.
The romantic comedy "Ho Shokudo - The Chef of Love that Transcends Time and Space" (10 episodes in total) is being streamed every Monday and Tuesday at 5pm in Japan and Korea at the same time, and exclusively in Japan for free.
On the 10th (Thursday), a press conference was held with the lead actor XIUMIN (EXO) on stage. XIUMIN spoke with a smile about everything from behind-the-scenes stories to his role-making and his impressions of Japan.

The story goes back and forth between the past and the present, but since I didn't live 400 years ago, I watched historical dramas and studied hard.
Q. If you could travel back in time, which era in the past would you like to go to?
I would like to go back to the Joseon period to meet the character Heo Gyun in real life. I would like to meet him in person and find out what kind of person he really was.
Q. Is there any memorable episode during filming? In the scene where I sleep and wake up in front of the palace, I was filming in the middle of the city wearing a white hanbok (traditional Korean dress), so I was surprised to see people passing by.
People at the club mistook me for a ghost... it was a little embarrassing (laughs). Q. As we approach the final episode, please give a message to the viewers.
Thank you very much for watching "Heo's Restaurant." I was especially curious to know if Heo Gyun will be able to return to the Joseon era and what will happen after he does.

■XIUMIN talks about "food"! He wants to open an "Isekai Izakaya" in Japan someday!?
Q. A Korean restaurant plays an important role in the drama. What Korean food would you recommend?
What is your favorite? My favorite is a stewed chicken dish called Dak-bokkeum-tang. It's spicy and very delicious, so please try it. Q. What is your favorite Japanese food?
I've had a lot of delicious food since coming to Japan, but I especially like Hitsumabushi and Sukiyaki. Q. Is there anywhere in Japan you'd like to visit?
I often go hiking with friends in Korea, so I want to climb Mt. Fuji. And Disneyland! I've been there once, but I wasn't able to see everything.
So I would like to go to places I haven't been to yet. Q. If you were to open a restaurant in Japan, what kind of restaurant would you like it to be?
I like the concept of an izakaya. I like alcohol and I enjoy all kinds of things.
I know what food goes well with alcohol, so I think I can serve delicious food. As for the name... I love anime, so how about "Isekai Izakaya" (laugh)
■ XIUMIN talks about his dual roles as a singer and actor, "There is no big difference between the activities of an actor and a singer" and his message to his fans
Q. You are active as a singer and an actor at the same time. What are the joys and difficulties of being an actor?
If you have any questions, please let me know. I don't think there is a big difference between acting and singing. If there is a difference, it is that I am an idol, and acting is a challenging field.
But it's fun to get into the role and shout and do action, and to play a character that I can't normally play, and I think that's one of the charms of being an actor.
Q. Please tell us about your future activities as an artist. I released my second mini album as a solo artist. It's been a while since my last release, so I took my time to carefully prepare it.
