IU showed her fandom for Yeom Hye Ran. IU said, "I've always been a fan of Yeom Hye Ran, so I was really happy. We acted in different eras, but I wanted to go and see her.
"I actually went to see it," he said. He continued, "Yeom Hye Ran is very quiet. She doesn't seem to say much. She doesn't say much when we're filming together either, and that was good too."
"Maybe everything was great because I'm a fan, but I thought to myself, 'It's great that you're so quiet even on set,' and 'But as soon as the cue is given, you get into character right away. That's so great.'"
IU said, "When I was acting out the dream scene, the script said, 'I see my mother, Ae-seung is going to cry.' But when I met my senior, the tears just welled up naturally."
"It's a scene from the middle of the story, so it's fantasy, sad, and funny, but it shows all of that. I couldn't tell Yeom Hye Ran, 'I love you,'" he said in a video message.
IU confessed, "I never thought the day would come so soon that I would be in the same frame as my senior. I was disappointed that our scene together was so short."
The Netflix series "Thank You" unravels the adventurous lives of Ae-seung and Kwang-sik, who were born on Cheju Island, over the course of four seasons. IU will be playing the role of Ae-seung and Ae-sung's daughter.
She played the role of the daughter, Geum-myung. Yeom Hye Ran played the role of Geum-rae, Ae-sun's mother.
