IU & Byeon WooSeok release a photo of themselves together, ”The 21st Century Empress”... Teaser of their unprecedented chemistry

"The King's Wife," which has become a hot topic due to the collaboration between IU and Byeon WooSeok, will be released in 2026.
"The 21st Century Prince's Wife" has been confirmed for release on Disney+ in the first half of 2026.
"The King's Wife of the First Century" is set in the 21st century, under the constitutional monarchy of Korea, and tells the story of Song Hee-ju, a wealthy businessman who has it all but is a commoner and is full of dissatisfaction, and the sad son of a king who has nothing.
It is a romance about the fate of Lee Wan, the great Prince of Ian. The film is directed by Park Jun-hwa, who created sympathy for characters in "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?", "Resurrection", and "Love on a Single Plank".
The script was written by writer Yu A In, who won the 2022 MBC TV Series Award for this work. As expectations are high for IU and Byeon Woo Seok to appear, they will once again be predicting their "life characters."
She is expected to show a new side of herself by announcing her upcoming role in the drama. She won the Best Actress award at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards and the Female Actress award in the K-TV Series category at the 20th Seoul TV Series Awards.
IU, who has brought the public to tears with her deep acting in each of her works such as "My Mister," "Hotel Luna," and "Lovers in the Moonlight," has the talent to combine outstanding beauty, intelligence, and a competitive spirit.
She plays the role of Song Hee-joo, the second daughter of a wealthy family who is a business owner but also a commoner with limited status.
Woo Seok plays Lee Wan, the son of a king who is sad because he has nothing. The two men share similar circumstances but have made different choices in life.
IU and Byeon WooSeok delicately portray these multiple changes in their characters, creating a heart-pounding story with their powerful presence.
The pair are expected to show off their chemistry. "The 21st Century Tycoon's Wife" will be released on Disney+ in the first half of 2026.
