A man in his 40s who murdered his former wife who was seven months pregnant was sentenced to 40 years in prison even after the appeal court ruled him guilty.

The accused was charged with stabbing and killing a man (in his 30s) several times with a deadly weapon. Defendant A also brandished the weapon and injured B's common-law spouse, who was standing next to him and tried to stop the crime.
At the time of the incident, Ms. B was seven months pregnant. Police and fire authorities confirmed that the deceased was pregnant, and after transporting her to the hospital, they performed a Caesarean section to rescue the fetus.
