”I kept hitting her even after she fainted”... A taekwondo coach invaded a high school girl's accommodation without permission and assaulted her indiscriminately (South Korea)
An incident occurred in which a high school taekwondo club coach, while drunk, entered the accommodation of female high school athletes without permission and assaulted them.
According to JTBC's "Case Leader" on the 29th, high school senior A was arrested on the 28th of last month at a hotel just before the National Taekwondo Championships.
At the time, Ms. A had a room on the second floor of the accommodation, and she asked the coach to change rooms because the hallway smelled bad of cigarettes.
After that, the coach returned to the accommodation after drinking, and used the master key to enter the accommodation on the fifth floor where the female high school athletes were staying, and assaulted the three female athletes who were in the room.
The reason was that he had moved rooms without permission. The coach made A lie on the bed while holding the auxiliary battery and continued to punch him. At the time, A was only wearing a shower gown.
The student was knocked unconscious by the assault, but the coach reportedly continued the assault regardless. Eventually, other coaches heard the student cry for help and intervened, and the coach finally stopped the assault.
The day after the incident, the coach continued to threaten A and the others, saying, "Are you upset about being hit? It's your fault that you got hit."
As a result of the coach's assault, Mr. A suffered dislocated limbs in the face, shoulders, wrists, and ankles, and had broken teeth.
A's parents said, "She desperately needed to win a medal to go to college, but she was so badly beaten that she couldn't perform to her full potential in the competition."
"It seems that he thinks that his education has been ruined, and as a parent, it breaks my heart," he said. After confirming the incident, the school removed him from the course on the 31st of last month.
Police are investigating the coach for alleged child abuse after receiving a report from the school.
