We bring you the official report of TV Series Fan Meeting in TOKYO ~Would you like to check in?~.
A cross-dressing heroine and three young people, four characters each with their own secrets
"Check-in Hanyang" is a youth romance historical drama in which the protagonist struggles to stay at Korea's most luxurious hotel, "Yongcheon-ru." It was streamed simultaneously in Japan and Korea and was selected as a hit by Lemino's "Korean Wave Asia."
The fan meeting for this TV series, which ranked first in the "Popular TV Rankings," will be held on April 26th with four members, Bae In-hyuk, Kim Jieun, Jung Gun Joo, and Park Jae-chan (DKZ).
The event was held at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo, welcoming the four main cast members. The first half of the event was dedicated to the TV series, starting with the cast members themselves explaining their character relationships.
The event was held twice a day, in the afternoon and evening, and featured a lively fan-participation game based on the TV series.
The event was filled with enthusiastic cheers from fans from all over Japan and overseas. Bae In Hyuk, Kim Jieun, and Cho
The four members, Ng Gong-ju, Park Jae-chan, and others, appeared. The fan meeting started with a greeting in Japanese from the four members, led by Bae In-hyuk, who said, "Let's have a wonderful time today."
In response to the first question about what he did after arriving in Japan, Park Jae-chan replied, "I went to Gold's Gym and ate 20 plates of sushi," immediately getting the crowd excited. Jung Gun Joo also responded, "Everyone was so excited."
"I should have refrained from eating before meeting you, but I ate fried chicken, tempura bowls, and hotpot dishes while drinking beer at a bar in Shinjuku," he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
By the way, Kim Jieun said, "I wanted to show everyone how beautiful I looked, so I couldn't eat much."
The four of them hadn't met in a long time for this event.
"I was just like a normal person," said Bae In Hyuk. "So I was able to relax during the filming. There were a lot of ad-libs that were not written in the script.
"I hope everyone will enjoy it." As a digest of the TV series was played at the venue, the four of them looked back on the TV series with the fans. "It's a scene that we've seen many times, but
It's really moving to watch it again. When you watch it with your fans, you get to react on the spot. It was a bit embarrassing," he said, referring to the physique he had built up in the TV series.
Jung Gun Joo also showed off her unique style. When asked which scene was the most memorable, the other three agreed, saying, "It was definitely when Gong Joo took off her clothes."
"It's hard to hold back the laughter," Park Jae-chan confessed, showing how close they are. "There are fun things like that on set, but on the other hand, there are also times when we get sensitive.
There are also things like that. The four of us are always really serious about our acting. So there are many times when we get sensitive and worried, but at those times,
"I felt at ease when we talked to each other. We relied on each other and supported each other, so I think we were able to enjoy filming until the very end." (Jung Gun Joo)
In addition, Kim Jieun and Bae In Hyuk explained the relationships between the characters in the TV series, and the four also talked about how they prepared for their roles.
Bae In-hyuk, who plays Lee Eun, an apprentice who searches for the Dragon Cherry Blossom, said, "I thought I had to express the difference between when I was in the palace and when I was at the Dragon Cherry Blossom. To do that, I had to use different words.
No, I tried to focus on the tone. Kim Jieun, who plays Hong Deok Soo, a cross-dressing heroine who joins "Yongcheonsakura" to avenge her murdered father, said, "My character is a cross-dressing
In the early scenes of the TV series, I didn't wear much make-up and I didn't try to control my weight. So I was a bit rounder and bigger, and I was a bit more attractive to men.
Jung Gun Joo, who plays Jeong Jun-ah, who hides his true identity as the son of "Ryuten Sakura" and becomes an apprentice, said, "I improvised on the set.
I'm the type of person who likes to act freely. I think the director wanted Juna to be a more serious and pure character, but I wanted to play a free-spirited Juna, so I played a carefree character.
"She has become a little bolder and more slender." Park Jae-chan, who is taking on a period drama role for the first time, plays Ko So-ra, who becomes an apprentice at "Ryūtenzakura" in order to rebuild her family's fallen merchant guild.
First of all, I watched a lot of period dramas. The character Sura is an obsessive who has to succeed at "Ryutenzakura" for the sake of his family.
"When I was a trainee, I had a burning passion to make my debut. I created the character of Sula with that in mind," he said enthusiastically.
In the second half of the event, three games related to the TV series were prepared for fans to participate in, and the venue was filled with excitement. The first game used dice, which is one of the important motifs of the TV series.
The game was "Can you get a double number? Giant Dice Test." You roll a giant dice and compete based on the number that comes up. If you get a double number, you win.
They split into two groups, Bae In Hyuk and Kim Jieun, and Jung Gun Joo and Park Jae Chan, and two fans selected from the venue joined each group to compete.
The second test was "Employees are telepathic! Tell them with a picture test." The actors from each team drew a picture of the given topic, and then looked at the picture and said,
The team guesses the theme. This ends in a draw, so the game moves to the final Sugoroku game. The dice are rolled, and the number of places written on the dice corresponds to the number of places in the audience.
Fans were thrilled when Bae In Hyuk, Jung Gun Joo, and Park Jaechan got off the platform and came to the audience. Actors and fans enjoyed the final game together.
Kim Jieun, who was unable to go down to the audience, said in her final greeting, "Time passed faster than I expected. In the last game, I
I wanted to get off the stage and be closer to you all, so it's a shame. I'll continue to work hard and create great things. Thank you for coming today," she said at the event.
Bae In Hyuk expressed her sadness at the end of the show, saying, "Today, I was able to receive a lot of good energy from all of you. I hope you all spend each and every day happily until we can meet again."
Park Jae-chan said, "I had a strange feeling. When the four of us were filming the TV series, I never thought we'd come to Japan like this.
I was really happy to have had such a good time with you. I will work harder and hope to come and see you all again soon," said Jeong Gun-jae.
The event ended with a loud shout in Japanese of "I love you!". Loud applause and cheers echoed throughout the venue for a long time. Photo: Tomoko Shimabukuro
