ソウル市「市内バス順法闘争時の運行率97%」…「故意遅延」など確認
Seoul Metropolitan Government: ”97% of city buses are operating during law-abiding protests”… ”Intentional delays” confirmed
The city of Seoul said that on the 30th of last month, when a legal struggle was launched following the breakdown in wage negotiations between the city bus company's labor and management, the operation rate of city buses was 97%, and that deliberate slowdowns and delays in departure and dispatch were also discovered.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the actual number of operations for the day of the legal protests, which took place over the previous day, was 1,013th short of the approved number of operations, resulting in an operation rate of 97.3%.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained, "Thanks to the mature civic attitude and active cooperation of responsible transport workers, we were able to complete the work without any major disruptions."
Prior to the union's legal struggle, the city of Seoul has improved its existing city bus operation monitoring system to detect deliberate obstructions to traffic flow.
As a result, on the day of the law-abiding protest, there were 87 cases of delayed dispatch intervals, 2 cases of abnormal bus stops, and 1 case of delayed departure from the depot.
A total of 90 abnormal signs were found. The majority of routes operated smoothly that day, but 165 routes were delayed by more than 15 minutes, with the average delay time being about 33 minutes.
In addition, the so-called "bus train" phenomenon occurred at some stops in the center lane due to the leading vehicle staying at the stop for a long time and intentionally running late.
Seoul City has responded by saying that if the anti-law protests resume in the future, it will station public officials at bus stops in the main central bus lane and take measures to prevent unnecessary long-term parking.
Seoul Metropolitan Government's Transportation Office chief Yeo Jang-kwon said, "We will do our utmost to reach an agreement between labor and management regarding wage negotiations.
"We will make thorough preparations in preparation for any legal struggle by the workers and do our utmost to ensure that citizens' use of public transportation is never impeded," he said.
