[Official] Movie ”Yadan” reaches 2 million viewers... Reclaims No. 1 on the first day of Golden Week in May
The Korean movie "Yadang" starring actors Kang HaNeul and Yoo HaeJin has surpassed 2 million moviegoers. According to the Korea Cinema Ticketing Integrated Computer Network, the movie "Yadang" has been released.
At 12:02 a.m. on the 2nd, the 17th day after its release, the film surpassed the 2 million mark. This is the highest box office score among films that are rated as unsuitable for young viewers and have been released since the COVID-19 pandemic.
This figure surpasses the previous record of "Deadpool & Wolverine" (1,977,010 viewers). In particular, it recorded the second highest audience among Korean films released this year for those aged 12 and over.
Compared to the movie "Seungbu: Two Go Players," which surpassed 2 million viewers on the 26th day after its release, the record of "Yadang," which is not open to minors, clearly shows that it is a box office powerhouse this spring.
In addition, on May 1, the start of Golden Week, "Yadang" attracted 146,878 viewers in one day, ranking first at the box office and achieving a seat sales rate of 33.3%.
It recorded the highest seat sales rate, beating out all other films released at the same time. This is not only the case with "Minecraft: The Movie," but also with "Holy Night: Demon Hunter," which was released this week.
"Yadan," which has been in the three-week release with a record surpassing "The Great Passage," "Thunderbolts," and "Broken Heart," is enjoying a steady performance and explosive word of mouth from audience members despite the onslaught of other new releases.
"Yadang," which has reclaimed the top spot at the box office and has been running for a long time with a cumulative audience of over 2 million, is a story about a man who manipulates the Korean drug industry.
A criminal action movie in which a broker named "Yadan" who is trying to get to higher positions, a prosecutor who is trying to get to the top, and a detective who is betting everything on eradicating drug crimes all intertwine with each other with different goals.
The film is currently receiving rave reviews in theaters across South Korea.
