South Korea's ruling party leadership demands that Kim Moon-soo, the official candidate, ”unify with former Prime Minister Han Deok-soo”

The Minister of Employment and Labor did not attend. Kwon Young-sei, chairman of the ruling party's emergency response committee, said at the general assembly, "We need to unify our candidates within the next four to five days and expand that momentum in order to win the presidential election."
"However, there are people around us who think that if we just wait, everything will be consolidated into our side," he said.
He continued, "But if we lose, what will happen to the lives of the people and the future of this country? We will have to bear the full responsibility for the downfall of conservatives and the collapse of South Korea.
He also said, "I fully understand the position of former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim, who was selected as the party's official candidate," but added, "I believe that party members and the public overwhelmingly support former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim."
"We need to reconsider why he gave his support to Han Deok-soo, who introduced himself as a candidate who unwaveringly advocated for unity from the early stages of the party's primaries.

"Now we need the courage and determination to think only of the future of the party and the country and the lives of the people and to entrust everything to him.
The ruling party leadership believes that "we must first unify Kim's nominee and former prime minister Han by the 11th of this month at the latest, and then seek solidarity with other factions."
