The Korean movie "Yadang" has broken even. According to the Korean Cinema Ticket Integrated Computer Network, the movie "Yadang," starring actors Kang HaNeul and Yoo HaeJin, broke even at 4:47 p.m. on the 5th.
The film surpassed the break-even point with a cumulative audience of 2.5 million people. Prior to this, it set a new box office record by topping the overall box office charts for 14 consecutive days from the day of its release.
Within three weeks of its release, it surpassed "Deadpool & Wolverine" and became the most popular film released since the global COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 that is rated as unsuitable for young viewers.
Not only did it achieve the highest box office score of all time, but it also overtook "Seungbu: Two Go Players" to become the second highest-grossing Korean film released this year, demonstrating its undiminished box office power.
"Yadan" not only ranked first in weekend box office sales for three consecutive weeks, but also surpassed "Minecraft: The Movie," "Thunderbolts*," and "The Holy Ghost" during the Golden Week period of its release.
It maintained its No. 1 spot at the overall box office for four consecutive days from the 1st, beating out other strong competitors such as "Demon Hunters" and "Broken Heart."
With this, the film regained the top spot in the overall advance ticket sales rate at 2:21 p.m. on the 5th, becoming an overwhelming box office powerhouse in the theater district during Golden Week.
Thus, "Yadang," which is still showing its unstoppable momentum in the fourth week since its release, has surpassed the cumulative audience numbers of "Hitman: Resurgence" (2,547,448 people) and is set to be the No. 1 box office hit in Korea in 2025.
The film is on the verge of becoming the number one highest-grossing film released in the country.
