Police car stops 'unconscious' driver who drove the wrong way in Seoul

It was later revealed that police stopped a car driving the wrong way on a four-lane road in Seoul, South Korea, and prevented a traffic accident. It was confirmed that the driver was unconscious at the time.
According to Seoul Seongdong Police Station on the 9th, Inspector Hwang Sang-won (36) of the Oksu Police Station was driving a car in Oksu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul at around 9 am on the 1st of this month.
A vehicle was found driving the wrong way for about 100 meters on a four-lane road. Officer Fan, who was patrolling in the opposite direction at the time, saw the vehicle and used his lights and siren to move the surrounding vehicles away.
In addition, a police car was used to block the path of the vehicle going the wrong way, preventing more serious damage during rush hour. Officer Fan suspected something was wrong with the driver, who did not open the door even after stopping, and asked him if he had any emergency escape tools.
He broke the window and opened the car door. The driver was confirmed to be unconscious. Police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, but found no particular criminal suspicion.
It was revealed that the driver had undergone head surgery several years ago and was still undergoing treatment for recovery. Seongdong Police Chief Seo Ki-young said, "Thanks to the swift and calm response at the scene, we were able to prevent a large number of injuries.
"We were able to safely prevent a potentially dangerous situation," he said, adding, "We will continue to do our best to respond to the situation on the ground to protect citizens."
