Kia Motors partners with Indian university to develop human resources for next-generation cars through industry-academia collaboration - South Korean media

Kia Motors' India regional headquarters signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati on the 9th (local time) to provide 350 million rupees (approximately 600 million yen) in research over the next five years.
IIT is one of the top educational institutions in India, with 23 campuses across the country. Kia Motors has decided to support the project in the city where its local factory is located.
The company has partnered with Tirupati University, which has a campus in Andhra Pradesh. This partnership with the university is the company's first industry-academia collaboration project since entering the Indian market.
The program promotes various forms of cooperation, including the operation of ship programs, the establishment of a major specializing in the automotive industry, scholarship support, promotion of industry-academia joint projects, and support for research on sustainable next-generation mobility.
In particular, the company will support the creation of a new "Makers Lab" at the Tirupati campus, a state-of-the-art research space that students can use to develop prototypes and conduct research.
