After the debate, Lee said through Fei Su-bok, "The first presidential debate held today (18th) was a chance to discuss the possibility of establishing a new Republic of Korea.
"It was a meaningful time in which we thought deeply and communicated our views for the future of our country and a better life for our people," he wrote.
"We had a fierce debate on the practical issues facing our society and our vision for the future, including our trade strategy and proposals for strengthening national competitiveness," he said.
"The future of the Republic of Korea depends not on who becomes president, but on what kind of country we build," he said.
" 45 years ago today, the citizens of Gwangju risked their lives to fight for democracy and justice," he said, adding, "Their noble sacrifice and courage will shape the future of Korea in December 2024.
Just as it saved our country, the June 3 election will be a historic turning point that will save our future."
