On the 17th (local time), Taiwan's Sanlit News Network and other local media reported that 7-Eleven Taiwan is moving to sue Kim Soo Hyun for damages after the cancellation of a project with Kim Soo Hyun that was embroiled in issues surrounding his privacy.
7-Eleven Taiwan's headquarters had originally planned to launch a number of products featuring Kim Soo Hyun as a model, including food, coffee, and souvenirs, but the company canceled the production of all products in response to the issue.
Kim Soo Hyun was also scheduled to model for 7-Eleven at a festival in Kaohsiung in March, but did not participate.
According to media reports, Taiwan 7-Eleven's total loss was NT$100 million, and the total loss, including the amount of waste and advertising loss, amounted to NT$130 million.
Taiwan 7-Eleven is considering claiming NT$130 million in damages from Kim Soo Hyun for not only the damage to its image but also the economic damage it has suffered since the Kim Soo-Hyun issue became public.
Taiwan 7-Eleven has not yet issued an official position.
