Actor Lee Sang Yeob underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplant for his mother with myelofibrosis

Actor Lee Sang Yeob revealed that he underwent a hematopoietic stem cell transplant for his mother, who was diagnosed with myelofibrosis.
Lee Sang Yeob appeared on "My Son's Growth Diary." During the broadcast, he revealed that his mother was diagnosed with myelofibrosis, a type of bone marrow cancer.
MC Seo Jang-hoon mentioned, "Lee Sang Yeob had a hematopoietic stem cell transplant on his mother," to which Lee Sang Yeob replied, "It's like a bone marrow transplant."
"In the past, bone marrow was extracted by inserting a needle, but recently the process has been simplified. Just like when you donate blood, only the hematopoietic stem cells are separated, and the blood is returned to you," he explained.
Another MC, Shin Dong-yup, revealed, "Lee Sang Yeob's wife is also amazing; she has studied about the disease."
Lee Sang Yeob said, "I'm not the type of person who would express myself, so I thought, 'Maybe they're not that interested.'

He also said, "This morning, my mother was discharged from the hospital and went through the discharge procedures. I was type B and my mother was type A, but after the cell transplant, my mother changed from type A to type B.
I've decided to start a new life. All she has left is her clothes, but I'll just make sure to take good care of them."
