The announcement was made on the 1st. The establishment of this dedicated immigration lane is part of the various commemorative projects being promoted by the governments of Japan and South Korea to mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The dedicated Japan-Korea immigration lanes will be set up at two airports each in Japan and Korea for one month in June for visitors from each country who meet certain conditions.
The target is short-term visitors such as Korean tourists who have visited the other country at least once within the past year based on the date of entry, and who depart their home country and return to the other country between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
If you are arriving in your home country via Gimpo Airport, Gimhae Airport, Haneda Airport, or Fukuoka Airport, you can use the dedicated immigration lane.
In order for Japanese nationals to use the special immigration lane, they must complete an electronic immigration declaration before entering Korea.
You can either receive an electronic immigration declaration form from the page which will show whether or not you can use the dedicated immigration counters, or take a screenshot and show it to an officer at the immigration desk.
Koreans must pre-register on "Visit Japan Web" before entering Japan.
Passengers who wish to use the special immigration lane will need to take a screenshot of the QR code and show it to the immigration officer at the immigration office.
You can undergo immigration inspection in the inspection lane, allowing you to enter the country quickly and smoothly.
