On the 21st, the governments of Japan and South Korea announced that to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations in 2025, they will set up dedicated immigration inspection lanes for nationals of each other's countries who meet certain requirements.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Seoul office welcomed the measures taken by both governments and provided specific instructions on how to use the system to Korean tourists and travel industry personnel entering Japan.
According to the conditions for mutual immigration in Japan, the airports in question are Haneda Airport Terminal 3 and Fukuoka Airport, and the flights arriving in question depart from Korean airports between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The target is travelers who have entered Japan at least once within the past year prior to the date of entry this time. For example, if the date of entry this time is June 1, 2025,
The program is aimed at Korean nationals who have entered the country after June 1, have registered with Visit Japan Web, and are traveling on a short-term stay visa.
The eligible period is from June 1 to 30, 2025, and the spouse and family members of the eligible person who accompanies them can also use the "Visit Japan
If you register as an accompanying family member on the "Visit Japan Website," you and the family member can use the special screening lane.
However, if the passport you used to enter Japan this time is different from the one you used to enter Japan within the past year (if you have changed your passport),
Please note that if you have updated your passport, you will not be able to check your immigration history on the system and will therefore not be eligible for the dedicated screening lane.
When pre-registering online, please use the designated immigration lane and enter the QR code issued after pre-registering online at the immigration gate.
