The Korea Local Newspaper Association, which represents the major newspapers in 29 regions of Korea, asked Gallup Korea to conduct a survey of 100 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide over two days from the 20th to the 21st of this month.
In a poll of seven people, 86% of respondents said they had watched the presidential debates on television or on the news or the Internet, while 14% said they had not.
Of those who watched the debate, 40% said Lee Jae-myung was the best debater, regardless of whether they supported him or not. Next was Lee Jun-seok of the New Reform Party.
(28%), Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party (17%), and Kwon Young-guk of the Democratic Labor Party (5%). 7% of respondents answered that there was no particularly good candidate.
In terms of age, Lee Jae-myung received a lot of support from the middle-aged and elderly, Lee Jun-seok from the young, and Kim Moon-soo from the elderly.
By age group, 49% of 18-29 year olds said Lee Jun-seok was the best debater, followed by Lee Jae-in.
Myung received 25%, Kwon Young-guk received 5%, and Kim Moon-soo received 4%. On the other hand, for those aged 70 and over, Kim Moon-soo received 39%, Lee Jae-myung received 29%, Lee Jun-seok received 22%, and Kwon Young-guk received 36%.
Candidate Ng-guk was rated at 2%. By region, in Seoul, 37% chose candidate Lee Jae-myung, 37% chose candidate Lee Jun-seok, and 11% chose candidate Kim Moon-soo as the best debater.
In Jeolla Province, 59% of respondents said Lee Jae-myung was the best debater. In Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, Kim Moon-soo received 30% and Lee Jun-seok received 31%.
At the same time, in response to the question, "How did the debate affect your choice of candidate?", 52% answered, "It made me support the candidate I already supported even more," and 100% answered, "It made me support the candidate I already supported even more."
Only 3% of people answered that it had changed their views. 7% of people answered that they had no support for a particular candidate, but now have one to support.
The percentage of people who answered "no" was 36%.
