US considering ”deploying 4,500 US troops in South Korea to the Indo-Pacific region” - US media

The US administration of Donald Trump is considering withdrawing several thousand US troops from South Korea, a defense official said on the 22nd (local time) in a Wall Street Journal report.
According to the report, the US Department of Defense plans to move about 4,500 of the approximately 28,500 US troops currently stationed in South Korea to Guam and other locations in the Indo-Pacific region.
"Such an idea is being pursued as part of an unofficial review of North Korea policy and is being prepared for President Trump's consideration," the officials said.
The WSJ also said the idea "has not yet been briefed on President Trump and is one of a range of ideas being discussed by senior officials reviewing the policy."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the National Security Council (NSC) did not reveal his position on the issue of withdrawing US troops from South Korea, but said, "President Trump is committed to the complete denuclearization of North Korea.
He simply said, "There is."
