President Lee kicks off collaborative governance...proposing ”promotion of common pledges for presidential election” to People Power

After completing his inauguration ceremony at the National Assembly, President Lee held a bibimbap lunch with the leaders of the six ruling and opposition parties to symbolize unity.
Chairman Kim Yong-tae said, "Many citizens were dissatisfied because the ruling and opposition parties were not able to handle the civil affairs section of the 22nd National Assembly.
"This has disappointed many people," he said. "Based on the joint manifestoes of the ruling and opposition parties for the presidential election, there was a common consensus that issues of concern to the public's livelihood and issues that are less subject to political disputes should be dealt with first."
President Lee's proposal for collaborative governance, including the promotion of a common pledge, from his first meeting with the opposition party leader is seen as an attempt to start the path of collaborative governance.
This is also seen as a reflection of concerns that the Lee Jae-myung administration of the Democratic Party of Korea, which has taken control of all administrative power, will run wild.
