”My husband was unwell so I voted for him”... Election official who voted on behalf of his husband was arrested and sent to prosecution in South Korea

An election worker who was found guilty of using her husband's ID card to vote on his behalf during the early voting period for the 21st presidential election has been arrested and indicted. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office announced that a former contract public servant, Park (60s), at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center has been arrested and sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on suspicion of voting fraud (impersonation).
On the 29th of last month, Park used her husband's ID card to issue a ballot for herself at an early voting station in Daechi 2-dong, Gangnam-gu, and cast her own proxy vote. About five hours later,

During police investigation, Park reportedly stated that she voted for her husband because he was unwell.
The Central Election Commission also asked her husband to be investigated to see if he had been involved in the crime, but he was found to have been complicit.
The prosecution did not file charges against Park as it had determined that he was not involved in the crime. Prior to this, the police had made an emergency arrest of Park immediately after the crime, after receiving a report from an observer at an early voting station, and had applied for an arrest warrant.
The warrant was issued due to concerns that he might flee.
