Yoon Seok-youl watches, which once traded for 200,000 to 300,000 won (approximately 20,000 to 30,000 yen), are now traded for around 80,000 to 100,000 won (approximately 8,000 to 10,000 yen).
On the 9th, a South Korean online second-hand trading site had more than 30 posts for the sale of "Yoon Seok-youl watches" since the start of President Lee Jae-myung's term.
Yoon Seok-youl watches are priced from 60,000 won (US$59.99) to 280,000 won (US$26.99).
The price of the commemorative watch was around 200,000 won. After the emergency martial law was declared, the price of the Yoon watch plummeted and it was traded at around 50,000 to 60,000 won (about 5,000 to 6,000 yen).
Following the arrest of President Yoon, the price rose to the 400,000 won range. After Yoon's impeachment, the price of Yoon Seok-youl watches gradually dropped, and they are currently traded in the 80,000 to 100,000 won range.
Meanwhile, in response to a joke by a member of the Democratic Party of Korea asking if President Lee Jae-myung would make a commemorative watch with his name engraved on it, he reportedly replied, "Is there really a need for something like that?"
On the same day, Jung Hyun, the party's supreme council member, appeared on the YouTube show "Kim Oh-joon's Difficult to Be Modest News Factory" and said, "I have the impression that (President Lee) is not trying to spend the budget recklessly.
"I received this," he said.
