An incident occurred at a middle school in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, when a male student (in his second year of middle school) sprayed a fire extinguisher on school grounds in rebellion after being scolded by a teacher.
On the 11th, Paju Police Station announced, "We are investigating a male second-year middle school student, A, on suspicion of property damage."
A is suspected of using a fire extinguisher in a school hallway at around 9 a.m. on the previous day (10th) and then fleeing the school.
The school sent an emergency email to parents saying, "Fire extinguishers have been sprayed in the school corridors, making it difficult to hold classes," and asked all second-year students to leave early.
Police responded to the report and arrested A near the school. A also sprayed a fire extinguisher in the teacher's office on the 9th, and teachers in the office
It was discovered that A had been complaining of a headache. During the police investigation, A reportedly stated, "I got angry when the teacher warned me about smoking, so I sprayed the fire extinguisher."
