Foreign tourists ”very satisfied” with Korean railroad services - KORAIL survey

As the number of foreign tourists visiting South Korea increases, the Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 17th that it received good reviews in a survey related to foreigners' user satisfaction.
The survey was conducted on May 18-19 among 301 foreigners who participated in face-to-face interviews at Seoul and Busan stations and on KTX trains. The survey questions were:
The survey included a total of 37 items, including the quality of service, station and train services, and ticket advance purchase methods. The overall satisfaction rating for using KORAIL was 93 points, and 96.7% of respondents said they would use it again when they visit Korea again.
Of the 100 foreign passengers who answered yes, 97% said they would recommend KORAIL to a friend. The most common reason for foreign passengers visiting Korea is for sightseeing and relaxation (78.4%), followed by visiting friends and acquaintances (6.3%) and business (9.2%).
In order of ranking, the rankings were: 1. 6%), and 2. Education (5%). By category, the company received scores of 90 points or higher for both facility services such as stations and trains, and personal services such as customer service.
In particular, "punctual train service (96.4%)," which is related to train operations, was cited as the most satisfying item.

The survey results showed that people highly rated the speed (59.1%) and the friendliness of the staff and drivers (50%).
The largest proportion of people purchased tickets was 45.5%, with 11.3% of people using the mobile app "KORAIL Talk". Purchases at counters (13%) and tickets included in travel agency packages (8%) were also not included.
Awareness of KORAIL among foreign rail passengers increased by 6.1% compared to the previous year (2024), with 60.5% saying they learned about KORAIL before visiting Korea (53.4% in the previous year).
The main ways people found out about KORAIL were through internet search (61.5%), recommendations from acquaintances (18.7%), previous travel experiences (11.5%) and travel YouTube (4.9%).
