China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reports that telecommunications revenue in January-May rose 1.4% year-on-year

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, telecommunications revenue in the first five months of this year increased 1.4% year-on-year to 748.8 billion formal (about 15.2 trillion yen).
As of the end of May, the total number of fixed broadband subscribers of the three major telecommunications carriers reached 682 million, an increase of 12.16 million from the end of last year.
Of these, the number of subscriptions to plans with speeds of 100 Mbps or more reached 648 million, accounting for 95% of the total. The number of subscriptions to plans with speeds of 1 Gbps or more was 223 million, an increase of 1,635 million from the end of the previous year.
The total number of mobile phone contracts of the three telecommunications carriers and China Radio and Television Network Group Co., Ltd. reached 1.807 billion as of the end of May, up from the end of the previous year.
Of these, the number of 5G mobile phone contracts was 1.098 billion, up 84.14 million from the end of last year, accounting for 60.8% of the total number of contracts.
