On this day, Mrs. Kim met with May Mothers, surviving relatives of those who served in the May 18 Democratization Movement, at the May Mothers' House in Yangrim-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju.
The interview, held behind closed doors, was attended by 11 members, including May House's first director Ahn Seong-rae and current director Kim Hyun-mi.
During the meeting, Mrs. Kim explained the purpose of her visit, saying, "I visited May's mother's house to keep my promise to meet her again after the presidential election."

This was Kim's first visit to her mother's home in about a month since last month 14th, ahead of the 21st presidential election.
At the time, Kim said, "After the emergency martial law on December 3 (last year), I thought of the mothers (who experienced the May 18th Uprising) many times. I wanted to visit them and convey my condolences."
