A man in his 20s who was on trial for assaulting his 11-month-old daughter, causing her death, and abandoning her body was given a heavy sentence. The reason for the murder was that the daughter was crying and fussy.
The Hongseong branch of the Daejeon District Court on the 8th sentenced him to 13 years in prison for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes (child abuse murder).
The court sentenced Defendant A to 13 years in prison. It also ordered him to complete an 80-hour child abuse treatment program and to be restricted from working in child-related institutions for 10 years.

He assaulted her abdomen and chest for the reason of sexual assault, threw her to the floor of her room, and killed her. He was then charged with abandoning the body in a styrofoam box at his home.

The court took into consideration the above and sentenced him to one year and six months in prison, suspended for three years.
