Jo Yu-ri of Squid Game denies rumors that her fee was 4.2 billion won, saying it was ”much lower”

Jo Yu-ri (formerly of IZ*ONE) denied rumors regarding her appearance fee.

On the 12th, MBC's “All-Knowing Meddlesome Perspective” episode 355 featured Jo Yuri, the heroine of Squid Game, which topped the charts in 93 countries within three days of its release.

Jo Yu-ri revealed, “My Instagram followers have increased significantly. Before ‘Squid Game,’ I had about 1.6 million followers, but now I have 7.61 million.”

She also mentioned, “Comments used to be mostly from Korean fans, but now many foreigners are leaving comments.”

Furthermore, she nodded in response to the statement, “I heard the appearance fee for ‘Squid Game’ was astronomical,” sparking viewers' curiosity.

Jo Yuri clarified, “There was an article claiming my appearance fee was 42 billion won (449 million yen), but that's impossible. It's far lower.”
