Chinese AI self-driving company expresses intention to invest in Incheon Free Economic Zone, South Korea… Cooperation in smart logistics automation?
On the 24th, the Incheon Metropolitan City government of South Korea announced that a leading Chinese company in the field of autonomous driving using artificial intelligence (AI) has expressed its intention to invest in Incheon.
According to the city of Incheon, Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, who is visiting Beijing, China, received the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFZ) from China's NEOLIX on the same day.
Incheon has received a letter of intent (LOI) from NEOLIX in connection with the autonomous driving test project within the Incheon International Federation of Economic Zones (IFEZ). The LOI states that NEOLIX will develop smart logistics facilities in major logistics facilities in Incheon.
The plan includes plans to provide automated services and form a "mobility convergence ecosystem" through the construction of a logistics innovation system.
The investment intention also suggests that it may lead to new investment in the free economic zone at the southern end of Ganghwa County in the future.
Mayor Yoo expressed his expectations, saying, "Through this opportunity, Incheon will be able to take a leap forward as a city that leads innovation in the fields of transportation and logistics based on AI and autonomous driving."
