Krafton, which is trying to grow from a game company to a content company, is acquiring companies at home and abroad one after another (Korea)
Aiming to create a hit game following the battle royale game "Battleground" and expand into the content industry in general, game giant Kraton is seeking domestic and international game and content companies for a bid.
Krafton has acquired 100% of the shares of Eleventh Hour Games, a US RPG game developer, for approximately 132.4 billion won (approximately 14.1 billion yen).
This will allow Krafton to secure the popular game "Last Epoch." In May, Indian game company Nautilus
The company acquired about 75% of Nautilus Mobile's shares for 20.2 billion won (about 2.15376 billion yen) and secured management control.
Mobile is well known in India for its sports game series "Real Cricket." Meanwhile, in June, BC, a content production company under the parent company of the Japanese ADK Group, announced that it had acquired 10,000 employees.
It also acquired J-31 for 710.3 billion won (approximately 75.7 billion yen). In April, it also invested approximately 164.9 billion won (approximately 17.5 billion yen) in advertising platform company Neptune in South Korea.
It has become Tune's largest shareholder, and in January it invested in Indian fintech company Cashfree Payments.
The series of moves is a strategy to prepare for the "post-battleground" era
This is a step towards making the company a global content company.
