Korean rice exports to Japan hit ”highest level”... 26 times higher than ever before = Korean report

According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation, Korean rice exports to Japan in the first half of this year reached 416 tons, the highest amount since Korea began keeping statistics in 1990.
The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on the 4th that South Korean rice exports to Japan have reached 26 times the previous record of 16 tons in 2012.
The previous record was reached in 2012, when Korean rice was sent to Japan for relief purposes following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
In Japan, the price of rice has risen sharply this year, leading to a large increase in rice imports from overseas, mainly from California, and from South Korea,
Hadong rice and Haenam rice are exported to Japan.
