”Confessing about leukemia”... Former ”GOOD DAY” member Ryu Ji-won: ”Deep mud... A big mountain remains to be climbed”
Ryu Ji-won (stage name: Jinnie/IL), former member of Korean girl groups "GOOD DAY" and "IRRIS," has belatedly revealed that she is battling leukemia.
Ryu Ji-won recently posted on her Instagram, "It's been three months since I was hospitalized without knowing anything and was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia," along with an update on her battle with the disease.
She shared a photo of herself saying, "I have successfully completed the first and second treatments and am currently undergoing the third treatment. I am so grateful that the treatment has progressed so smoothly that it doesn't seem like a serious illness."
"After I was diagnosed with the illness, I was in a deep quagmire, not wanting to receive any comfort or contact from anyone, but thanks to the messages and concerns about my safety from my family, friends, and loved ones,
"It really warmed my heart," she continued, "I had no hair and had lost a lot of weight, so it was very strange for me, who had only ever seen myself dressed up, and I felt that other people were surprised.
I was scared of how I would look to the public, so I was afraid to even upload a single photo," she said. "But now I've gathered up the courage to upload updates like this, showing that I'm doing well.
"I still have a big hurdle to overcome, the bone marrow transplant, but I hope to finish the treatment soon and return to my normal life, or rather, to a more normal appearance than before I got sick," he said.
Ryu Ji-won, born in 1997, was the first to appear on the "GOOD LUCK" TV show in 2017.
She debuted as a member of the group "DAY", and joined the girl group "REDSQUARE" in 2020 and the group "Momo" in 2022.
After being a member of the girls group "IRRIS", she turned to acting.
