Sean (JIN WOO) completes 81.5km run to celebrate Liberation Day...raising 238 million yen in donations

Sean, from the hip-hop duo JIN WOO-seon, successfully completed an 81.5-kilometer marathon to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day on August 15th.

The 815 Run will reaffirm the meaning of Liberation Day and gratitude to those who contributed to independence.
The charity marathon spreads a positive message: "It's going to work out, Republic of Korea!" This year, a record number of 19,450 individual participants were recruited over 24 days.
Sean completed the 81.5km run in 7 hours, 50 minutes and 22 seconds, even in the scorching heat of August. 4,000 offline participants gathered at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
He ran with Sean and watched a special concert featuring Sean and singer Seohyang, commemorating the meaning of Liberation Day.
Donations from 110 sponsoring companies and the entire participation fee from 19,450 individual participants will be paid by the Korean
The total amount of donations, totaling over 2.38 billion yen (approximately 238 million yen), will be used to improve the living environment for the families of those who contributed to independence.
Sean said, "Starting the morning of Liberation Day with an 81.5-kilometer run is my way of expressing my gratitude to those who contributed to independence and their descendants."
"I would also like to thank all the runners who shared that feeling."
Sean has been running 8.15 runs since 2020 and 3.1 runs since 2021.
Every year, during the March 1st Independence Day and Liberation Day, a campaign to improve the living environment for the descendants of independence activists is being held. With the donations collected so far, new housing will be provided to 19 generations of the descendants of independence activists.
The company dedicated the house and is currently building its 20th to 22nd homes.
