Kwon Hea Hyo shared her thoughts on taking on the role of a visually impaired person. The production briefing for the movie "Face" was held on the morning of the 22nd at Lotte Cinema Kondaeik (Kyungnam University Entrance) in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The event was held at the Seoul Film Festival in Seoul, South Korea, on 14th May 2019. Director Yeon Sang Ho and actors Park Jung Min, Kwon Hea Hyo, Shin Hyun Bin, Lim Seong Jae, and Han Ji Hyeon attended the event.
On this day, Kwon Hea Hyo commented on the role of a visually impaired person, saying, "I've never used eye drops before, I don't have presbyopia, and I'm visually impaired.
I'm fine, but this time I had to wear contact lenses. They felt like a foreign object, so I was scared and it was hard to get used to them at first. In fact, I couldn't see very well in front of me."
He continued, "My late father-in-law was visually impaired. I saw him up close, so I think I was influenced by him unconsciously. That's why I think I was able to act naturally."
The film "The Face" is about a blind seal engraver called a living miracle, Im Young-gyu (played by Kwon Hea-hyo, who was also played by Park Jung-min in his younger days), whose son Im Dong-hwan (played by Park Jung-min)
The film tells the story of a young man who discovers the skeleton of his mother, who disappeared 40 years ago, and then uncovers the truth behind her death. It will be released on September 11th.
