Former South Korean Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, chairman of the National Reform Party's Innovation Policy Research Committee, who made the remark that "the 2030 generation (men in their 20s and 30s) are becoming far-right," the leader of South Korea's largest opposition party, the People's Power Party,
On the 23rd, Rep. Joo Jin Woo criticized, "Just because someone criticized me, he should not insult decent young people."
On the same day, Rep. Joo wrote on Facebook, "The 2030 generation will be deeply affected by the misconduct committed by the Cho couple.
"I am furious at the unfairness of the entrance exam," he said. "I am disillusioned with Cho's pretense of pretending to be 'righteous.' I am angry at his sense of privilege, being pardoned without atoning for his crimes."
"They are truly shameless," he continued, criticizing, "The public is outraged that (Cho) was pardoned. Please keep your mouth shut."
The previous day (22nd), Chairman Cho appeared on a South Korean radio program and claimed that "men of the 2030 generation are showing far-right tendencies similar to those of men in their 70s."
When asked, "What do you think about the current situation where a certain percentage of the 2030 generation is leaning very far to the right?", Cho answered as above.
"If he had simply been conservative, it would be something that could be treated as a problem, but he is showing what is known as far-right leanings. I am very worried," he said.
